So, just what are doing for this insane  project?

 So glad you asked.

I have a skeleton made of hard plastic , I have linen, and I have  egg tempera paint. I want to re-create  a Greco-Roman era mummy with shroud and the accompanying  grave goods. You are most likely at this point wondering why?? Why do this project and not something easy like Medieval arrows or maybe turn shoes? Trust me I am not looking down my nose at those pursuits , I am a nut who likes a challenge.

I guess it's because for me the excitement is learning and doing. I actually like reading about how the practices of mummification changed over time and adopted practices  of the Greeks and Romans.

I have been in the Society of Creative  Anachronism (SCA) since 1998. I just think that now is the time to look at era's less examined and item's not often recreated to have greater understanding of what had been commonplace in the lives of people from the time period we  try to replicate. So chime in , ask questions or just enjoy the  insanity.
