Get yer head out of your Clavin
I am most likely making a reference that will sail over the head of some people, but this is Cliff Claven and he is the epitome of the one thing that drives me nut in historically minded communities.
People who obviously know a small kernel of information about a subject and they insist on blundering into a discussion and pushing their viewpoint whether its valid or not. On the show Cheers from the 80's GOD I AM OLD, the character of Cliff the mailman screw up , offered his opinion as fact no matter what. A classic from him was:
"It’s a little-known fact that the tan became popular in what is known as the Bronze Age."
- Cliff Clavin.
So what does this have to do with the mummy project and your research? It does in the fact that people who share knowledge and resources I adore, The Cliff Clavin's of the world can just bite me. Seriously, don't lecture me that the painted shrouds were less than two percent of the finds and there for I should focus on the wooden painted panels.
1. How do you know the percentage of shroud's with portraiture on them? I have been researching and writing for a year now and I don't.
2. I do not really care if we found only one of things, I am still interested in it.
I also really dislike the " hey little lady" , you got that wrong tone some people take about my cosmetics research. I know white lead was used and guess what? I don't want to used the stuff even in something not meant to be used. Maybe , I like not playing with things that would screw up my nervous system.
All I am saying is that if you know Jack Squat about my research , and you are not here to help then STFU.
I really have no time to listen to half baked crap you read on line.
really.
